Understanding Participation in Integrated Youth Mental Health Service Research: Lessons Learned From a Feasibility Study With Jigsaw
1 Introduction Over the past 20 years, integrated youth mental health services (IYMHS) have been developed internationally to address long-standing barriers to accessing youth mental healthcare (McGorry, Coghill, and Berk 2023; McGorry et al. 2024). These services include headspace (in Australia, Israel, Denmark), Foundry, ACCESS Open Minds, and Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (in Canada), and Jigsaw in Ireland (McGorry et al. 2024; Hetrick et al. 2017).
Exploring changing trends in depression and anxiety among adolescents from 2012 to 2019: Insights from My World repeated cross‐sectional surveys
1 INTRODUCTION Adolescence is a critical period of development, which can shape the likelihood, severity and course of mental health problems (Kessler et al., 2007; Kessler et al., 2012). There is evidence that 62.5% of mental disorders occur before the age of 25 years (Solmi et al., 2022). However, mental health problems among this age group often remain undetected until adult life and many young people do not get adequate support (Hetrick et al., 2018).
Risky sex behaviours among college students: The psychosocial profile
Aims Risky sex behaviours among college students are a growing public health concern. However, few studies have profiled these behaviours using a large range of psychosocial correlates. Methods Participants were 6874 undergraduate and postgraduate students (64.7% female, age range 17‐25 years, M = 20.43 years, SD = 1.86 years) drawn from 13 higher‐level institutions in Ireland. Results Regarding prevalence, 75% of the sample report that they have been, or are currently sexually active.
