On April 27, 2026, the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) held the “ANP’s New E&P Licensing Model: Partnership with B3” workshop, aimed at representatives of the oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) industry. The purpose of the event was to present to market participants the proposed redesign of ANP’s licensing model, developed in partnership with B3, as well as to gather feedback, suggestions and questions from industry stakeholders.

The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) will hold a public hearing on March 13, 2026 to discuss revisions to the Permanent Production Sharing Offer (OPP) tender protocol. The main agenda item is the incorporation of 15 additional exploratory blocks into the bidding round. At present, the tender protocol covers eight areas: Jade, Ágata, Amazonita, Safira Leste, Safira Oeste, Larimar, Turmalina, and Ônix.

The Brazilian Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) approved the geo-economic studies relating to three Pre-Salt Blocks in the Santos Basin—Quartzo, Calcedônia, and Opala—during the reserved session of its 1,147th Board Meeting, The studies are part of the Opala project, and tie in to the Strategic Calendar of Geological and Economic Evaluations for the Pre-Salt Polygon, approved by the ANP on 2023 (Please see our Legal Update on the calendar).
