TREM2 expressing macrophages are not associated with prognostic markers or metabolic syndrome in early stage ER positive breast cancer - Scientific Reports
Abstract Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2) has been shown to confer immunosuppressive effects when expressed on tumor associated macrophages and thus has become a prominent focus of cancer research in recent years. The primary aims of this study were to explore the distribution of TREM2-expressing macrophages in early-stage ER+ breast cancer, specifically asking if there is a correlation with tumor aggressiveness and/or metabolic syndrome.
