1 INTRODUCTION Offshore oil production systems face persistent operational challenges due to the complex multiphase flow behaviour that occurs from reservoir to topside facilities. As gas-lifted wells mature, declining reservoir pressure is often accompanied by increased water cut and, in many cases, higher liquid viscosity, leading to the formation of stable emulsions.
