Key Points Question Does variation exist in the content of patient safety reports based on the demographic characteristics of the physicians who are the subject of the event report? Findings In this qualitative study of 401 patient safety reports, physicians who were female or members of racial and ethnic minority groups were more likely to be reported for low-severity communication issues compared with their male and White counterparts, respectively.
