Long‐Term Quality of Life in Patients with Intracanalicular Vestibular Schwannomas after Gamma Knife Surgery Treatment: A Follow‐Up Study
1. Introduction Vestibular schwannomas (VS) constitute approximately 6% to 8% of all intracranial tumours, and the incidence of intracanalicular VS (IVS) is approximately 8% [1, 2]. The increasing availability of high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging contributes to increased detection rates, even in patients with no or mild clinical symptoms. As most patients with IVS are asymptomatic or present with only minor clinical symptoms, the choice of appropriate treatment remains controversial.
