A sperm bank in Denmark requires its sperm donors to have an IQ of at least 85 and a police clearance certificate demonstrating no criminal record. Donor Network, with its headquarters in the Danish town of Aarhus, is the first sperm bank in Europe with such requirements, and includes results of the compulsory IQ test on donor profiles alongside information on physical characteristics.

Researchers have developed a tool they say can be used to predict mortality risk using DNA methylation data, from cheek cells rather than from blood. Previously developed epigenetic 'clocks' such as GrimAge use data on methylation of CG sites on the genome of certain blood plasma cells to train deep learning systems to predict the 'biological age' of an individual, alongside other predictors such as smoking status.

A court ruling allowing a woman to transfer an embryo created with her former husband, despite his opposition, is thought to be the first of its kind in Poland. During their marriage, the couple had created two viable embryos via IVF, of which one was transferred and resulted in the birth of a child, while the other remained frozen. Following the divorce, the husband initially agreed that the embryo could be transferred, but later would consent only to disposal or placing it for adoption.
