Adverse and Positive Childhood Experiences and Emotion Regulation in Incarcerated Women

Abstract The present study aimed to examine the relationship between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs), and emotion dysregulation and analyze the potential buffering effect of PCEs on this relationship in a sample of 109 incarcerated women in Portugal. Participants completed the Adverse Childhood Experiences Questionnaire, the Benevolent Childhood Experiences Questionnaire, and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale—Short Form.
