Abstract Advances in paleogenetics allowed the identification of protein-coding changes unique to Homo sapiens by comparing present-day and archaic hominin genomes. So far, experimental validation has been restricted to functional assays and model organisms. Large-scale biobanking now makes it possible to directly assess phenotypic consequences in living adults.

While human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell (HucMSC)–derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) have shown promise in ameliorating DO, the mechanisms underlying their effects remain poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the therapeutic potential of growth differentiation factor 9 (GDF-9)–overexpressing EVs (GOEs) on granulosa cells.

Abstract Insect wings have unique, irregular nanopillars with multifaceted properties. One of the great challenges in broader applications of insect wing–inspired surfaces is to mass-produce insect-wing nanoarchitectures (IWNs) on ultrathin and durable substrates that can be integrated onto any planar/nonplanar surfaces. This study presents a simple method for producing IWNs on ultrathin polyimide (PI) films.
