1 Introduction Water pollution is one of the most serious environmental problems and poses a serious threat to flora, fauna, and humans. Currently, the adverse health effects associated with exposure to environmental pollutants are increasingly being addressed using advanced nanomaterials, not only in water treatment but also in biomedical applications [1]. The most common contaminants in wastewater are dyes, microplastics, and pharmaceuticals, among others.
