1 Background The current nosographic system for mild neuropsychological disorders in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) by Strong et al. [1] defines mild cognitive impairment (MCI) as the occurrence of either executive dysfunctions or language deficits and mild behavioral impairment (MBI) as the presence of either apathy alone and/or of at least two other behavioral changes typical of behavioral variant-frontotemporal dementia.

Introduction Truthful responses to sensitive questions are difficult to collect as, under some conditions, the respondent is deceptive and responds based on social desirability. For example, pedophiles do not respond “yes” to direct questions such as “are you a pedophile?.” Similarly, drunk drivers will not admit guilt when confronted with direct questions of the “did you do it?” type (Locander et al., 1976).

4. Discussion The aim of the present study was to assess attentional functions of post-COVID-19 participants using a web-based VDT and to clarify the relationship between attention deficits (i.e., slowing of RTs) and the main symptoms that appear after the onset and progression of the disease. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to perform a web-based, self-administered cognitive assessment in an Italian sample of post-COVID-19 subjects.
