Spectral dataset of natural objects’ reflectance from the Southern cone of South America - Scientific Data
Abstract The reflection in natural objects mediates an important fraction of the light reaching animal photoreceptors. Knowledge of the spectral properties of natural objects is increasingly valuable for different research fields. Measured datasets of natural objects’ reflectance can offer insights into fundamental and applied research questions, contributing to investigations from coloration and color vision to color analysis and representation.
Diatoms of Gut Content of Crassostrea gasar (Bivalvia: Ostreidae) (Adanson, 1757) Cultivated in an Amazonian Estuary (Emboraí Velho, Northern Brazil)
Submitted: 17 February 2025 You are already at the latest version The present study investigated the gut contents of oysters cultivated in the Emboraí Velho Estuary (Amazonian littoral) focusing on the analysis of diatoms. Analyses of the stomach contents from 60 adult individuals of the species Crassostrea gasar (Adanson, 1757) collected in the study environment were performed. Additional water samples were collected for the analysis of diatoms present in the estuary.
Charting the Path: Navigating Embryonic Development to Potentially Safeguard against Congenital Heart Defects
8. Conclusions and Perspectives Mammalian heart development is a complex process, involving distinct pools of cardiac progenitor cells located in specific regions of the embryo. The precise orchestration of the progenitor cells’ emergence in embryonic time and space, as well as their proliferation, migration, and differentiation process, which is stimulated by environmental signals and pathways, is crucial for proper embryonic heart assembly.
Chia flour combined with a high fat diet increases propionic acid production and improves the microbial richness and diversity in female Wistar rats
Chia flour combined with a high fat diet increases propionic acid production and improves the microbial richness and diversity in female Wistar rats Marcella Duarte Villas Mishima, Barbara Pereira Silva, Mariana Juste Contin-Gomes, Renata Celi Lopes Toledo, Roberta Ribeiro Silva , Elad Tako, Neuza Maria Brunoro Costa and H. S. Martino Abstract Chia is a functional food because of its positive impact on reducing risk of metabolic diseases.
Human Stem Cells for Cardiac Disease Modeling and Preclinical and Clinical Applications-Are We on the Road to Success?
Abstract : Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are pointed out by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the leading cause of death, contributing to a significant and growing global health and economic burden. Despite advancements in clinical approaches, there is a critical need for innovative cardiovascular treatments to improve patient outcomes.
Evidence Linking PPARG Genetic Variants with Periodontitis and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in a Brazilian Population
3. Discussion Although several studies investigating the role of SNPs in the PPARG gene in T2DM have been published, to our knowledge, this is the first study to investigate the potential contribution of the PPARG SNPs with the occurrence of periodontitis together with T2DM. The most investigated SNP in the PPARG gene regarding the association with T2DM is rs1801282 (Pro12Ala).
Halochromic Silk Fabric as a Reversible pH-Sensor Based on a Novel 2‑Aminoimidazole Azo Dye

Synergistic Antimicrobial Activity of Silver Nanoparticles with an Emergent Class of Azoimidazoles
Abstract : The combination of two or more agents capable of acting in synergy has been reported as a valuable tool to fight against pathogens. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) present a strong antimicrobial action, although their cytotoxicity for healthy cells at active concentrations is a major concern. Azoimidazole moieties exhibit interesting bioactivities, including antimicrobial activity.
Semi-Preparative Separation, Absolute Configuration, Stereochemical Stability and Effects on Human Neuronal Cells of MDPV Enantiomers
2.3. Racemization Study In this work, the effects of temperature and basic conditions on the racemization of the enantiomers of MDPV were evaluated and analyzed through LC. The analytical chromatographic conditions were identical to those described previously for the evaluation of the enantiomeric purity (Figure 3).
IJMS | Free Full-Text | Assessment of the Permeability of 3,4-Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV) across the Caco-2 Monolayer for Estimation of Intestinal Absorption and Enantioselectivity
Abstract : 3,4-Methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV) is a widely studied synthetic cathinone heterocycle mainly concerning its psychoactive effects. It is a chiral molecule and one of the most abused new psychoactive substances worldwide. Enantioselectivity studies for MDPV are still scarce and the extent to which it crosses the intestinal membrane is still unknown. Herein, an in vitro permeability study was performed to evaluate the passage of the enantiomers of MDPV across the Caco-2 monolayer.
