The geminal difluoro motif is highly prevalent in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and functional materials (Figure 1). (1) Its incorporation into bioactive compounds has been demonstrated to impart profound pharmacokinetic and physicochemical effects, including modulation of lipophilicity, metabolic stability, and the pKa of adjacent functional groups.
