Abstract Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common benign salivary gland tumor and most frequently arises in the parotid gland. Although benign, it can recur and may undergo malignant transformation, underscoring the need for experimental models that preserve native tissue features over time.

3. Results A total of 354 patients were identified in the clinical database. 30 non-PA tumors were excluded because the respective histological samples were not present in the pathology department and could not be examined. Furthermore, 95 pathological samples were excluded, as they represented general parenchymatous changes due to autoimmune disorders or because they were non-glandular tumors or cysts. Of the remaining 259 patients, 99 were PA, 129 were Warthin tumors, and 31 had other tumors.
