Introduction Bacillus spp. and related genera, including Paenibacillus, Alicyclobacillus, or Brevibacillus, are mostly Gram-positive and have the ability to produce spores and display metabolic capabilities under aerobic as well as relatively anaerobic conditions (Figure 1).
