English In Colombia, the 2022 SABER tests for 9th grade show that students are not developing mathematical competencies, with lower results observed in public schools. A teaching strategy was proposed to improve the understanding and application of area and perimeter concepts through meaningful learning. The research was qualitative with a descriptive approach, involving 20 ninth-grade students from a public school in Bogotá.
