1 Introduction One of the newest technologies used in personnel selection is virtual reality (VR; Kepes et al. 2025), “a technology that uses a head-mounted device (HMD) to immerse an individual in a virtual world or experience that is beyond reality” (Sanchez et al. 2024, 419). This technology can be integrated into traditional selection tests, such as situational judgment tests (SJTs; Aguinis et al. 2001; Rijsdijk et al. 2021).
