As the author states, “teaching is not the same as learning.” This is a part of the book as stated by the reviewer which many do not understand. Learners have issues and teachers have other issues. And there are barriers on either side which need to be overcome. Sometimes you just want the answer David Zetland (August 10, 2026) I do not remember how I heard about this 1971 book by Ivan Illich, but it’s well known as a critique of “modern” (ca 1971) schooling.

Coming from The Hill (August 18, 2026) . . . You would think by now, the United States would learn not to entangle itself in another foreign battle. “Iran’s Speaker says Bessent and Hegseth are ‘way out of their league.’” Hegseth’s background as being XMiltary should have been enough for him to know . . . “there are never short excursions.”  We are right in the middle of the “Middle East.” Their oil is important to us. Meanwhile, Trump is angering Canada . . .
