Wear studies on friction stir processed surface modified AZ61 magnesium alloy with nano titanium oxide
ABSTRACT Surface modification of magnesium alloy enables the improvement of wear characteristics for use in sliding applications and places where surface hardness improvement is essential without affecting the microstructure of the underneath material. In this study, a pin-on disc wear test was used to examine the dry sliding wear behaviour of AZ61 Mg alloy reinforced with nTiO2 by a recursive friction stir processing technique.
