Nick Barr’s Biography

I love everything theatre! Immersive theatre is my happy place - the escapism of dressing up and playing in a fantasy world for an evening is just incredible! I live in London, the European home of theatre.
I write for 1883 Magazine and have become the theatre lead, which is awesome. I am a pretty generous critic on the whole; as an actor at heart, I don't like to be too scathing. If I really don't like something, I simply don't write about it!

Thelma & Louise takes the scenic route with a sensational cast

This review contains spoilers for a 35-year-old film. Having seen Amy Lennox in Cabaret and Rachel Tucker in Into the Woods, I went into Thelma & Louise with high expectations of its leading women. Neither disappointed me. Their voices are phenomenal, their acting is just as good, and together they give this musical an enormous amount of heart. The show around them takes a little longer to find its feet.

Ophelia Lovibond has been acting professionally since the age of 12, when she landed her first television role in the Channel 4 sitcom The Wilsons. Her introduction to performing came through YoungBlood, an affordable youth theatre group held at the old Riverside Studios, close to the West London housing estate where she grew up. Since then, she has built an impressively varied career across television, film, and theatre.
