What is currently known? Despite having high rates of mental health difficulties, little is known about contacts with services for young people who are involved in social care services, particularly those subject to protective (i.e. in-home care) and care (i.e. out-of-home care) interventions What has been shown? Only 9–18% of these young people are in contact with mental health services.
