Barry O'Rourke’s Biography
I have an MA in Journalism along with a Bachelor in Education from Dublin City University.
For 4 years, I have worked as both a mainstream and special needs teacher.
I undertook the MA in Journalism in 2015, fulfilling a lifelong ambition. Afterwards, I began working as a journalist with Ireland's most popular news and media website and national broadcaster RTE.ie
Notable stories covered included my Irish Times pieces on pay equalisation within the public sector union, industrial relations within teaching sector and human interests piece on LGBT worker rights.
My main career interests are in tech, education, video gaming journalism and LGBT rights.
