Abstract Detecting radionuclide gas seepage from clandestine underground nuclear tests is central to nonproliferation explosion monitoring research. Yet, early-time (<6 day) gas transport driven by the explosive pressure wave remains poorly constrained due to scarcity of field data. We simulate multi-phase gas transport in the vadose zone using pre-shot data from a recent chemical explosion in P-Tunnel at the Nevada National Security Site, USA.

Barry Roberts (Courtesy) I began singing in the Catskills when I was 14-years-old. Over the years that followed, I performed at almost every hotel and bungalow colony. Along the way, I met many other performers: singers, comics, dance teams, magicians, and “novelty acts.” Many had regular day jobs in the off-season. (I recall being asked, “So what do you do in the winter?” My standard reply was, “In the winter, I wear an overcoat.”) One such singer/comic was a cantor in the off-season.

Barry Roberts (Courtesy) In a recent column by Dr. Michael Isaacson, he mentioned his time as a student at Yeshiva Rambam in Brooklyn. I too have some memories of that yeshiva and so was prompted to write this recollection. As a high school music teacher for the New York City Board of Education, I took a leave of absence in order to pursue a career dream. I had always been an entertainer and I still have the privilege of doing quite a few shows right here in Southeast Florida.
