Abstract Copy number variants (CNV) contribute significantly to the pathogenic variation associated with developmental disorders. CNV detection is often not included in standard exome sequencing (ES) analysis. Complementary methods such as chromosomal microarray are typically offered in diagnostic laboratories to diagnose pathogenic CNV.
