1 Introduction Understanding the key processes of drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination (ADME), and effects is essential for effective drug research and development in academia, pharmaceutical companies, and regulatory agencies [1-5]. Using physiologically based pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PBPK/PD) modeling and simulations (M&S) to that effect is well-established in regulatory submissions for new or generic drug approvals [6].
