What was your first job as a journalist?

Unpaid morning reporter at WORT community radio in Madison, Wis.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

When I worked at WORT, we had no paper so we typed stories with a Royal typewriter on the back of old press releases.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

iPhoneX for photography, video and recording interviews.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Ask tough questions, always shoot for one more source, constantly challenge yourself to improve your writing.

What's your favorite drink?

German Oktoberfest homebrew I make
