South Dakota Hospital Housing

Fall River Health Services in Hot Springs, South Dakota, is investing in a subdivision project to provide housing for its employees. The hospital is paying $2.3 million for infrastructure to create 48 affordable housing units near its campus. State housing officials say its the first-of-its-kind project. As of May 29, the hospital had 19 job openings, most in direct patient care. A housing shortage has caused the hospital to lose prospective workers.
