Neuronal type-specific modulation of cognition and AP-1 signaling by early-life rearing conditions - Nature Communications
Abstract Environmental conditions profoundly influence cognitive development, particularly during early life. Transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms may serve as molecular substrates for the lasting effects of environmental enrichment (EE) and impoverishment (IE) on cognitive abilities and hippocampal function. However, the specific gene programs driving these changes remain largely unknown. In this study using female mice, EE and IE produced opposite effects on cognitive performance.
A new analytical pipeline reveals metatranscriptomic changes upon high-fat diet in a Down syndrome mouse model.
Abstract The existing methods designated for metatranscriptomic studies are still rare and being developed. In this paper we present a new analytical pipeline combining contig assembly, gene selection and functional annotation. This pipeline allowed us to reconstruct contigs with very high unique mappability (83%) and select sequences encoding putative bacterial genes reaching also a very high (66%), unique mappability of the NGS sequencing reads.
Black chromatin is indispensable for accurate simulations of Drosophila melanogaster chromatin structure
Abstract The interphase chromatin structure is extremely complex, precise and dynamic. Experimental methods can only show the frequency of interaction of the various parts of the chromatin. Therefore, it is extremely important to develop theoretical methods to predict the chromatin structure. In this publication, we describe the necessary factors for the effective modeling of the chromatin structure in Drosophila melanogaster. We also compared Monte Carlo with Molecular Dynamic methods.
