Abstract To characterize Bioelectrical Vector Analysis (BIVA) vector patterns in adults with excess adiposity defined by fat mass index (FMI) and to examine the implications of obesity-related vector displacement for the clinical interpretation of BIVA. We conducted a retrospective cross-sectional analysis of adults attending a tertiary obesity clinic. Excess adiposity was defined using sex-specific FMI thresholds based on NHANES criteria.
