CSMPs characterization All the characterizations of the CSMPs are depicted in Fig. 2. The extinction spectra of the particles, normalized to their maximum values, are presented in panel (a). MCPs alone exhibit an extinction profile without defined peaks (grey solid line), whereas the CSMPs display a pronounced plasmonic resonance centred at approximately 550 nm (red dashed line), confirming the formation of gold nanoparticles on the magnetic cores.
