2.5. Biochemical Markers of Bone Turnover Obesity only had an adverse effect on the concentration of the biomarker of bone formation (P1NP) and not on bone resorption (CTX) (Figure 3A). Taking into account gender as an additional dividing criterion, it was shown that excess body weight significantly reduced plasma P1NP concentrations only in obese women and not in men (Figure 3B).
