Various characteristics of managers, such as experience, values and personality, comprehensively influence corporate decisions (Hambrick 2007). In particular, one's attachment to a place creates a place identity, which forms a key element of an individual's identity (Proshansky 1978). Several studies suggest that management styles vary depending on CEOs’ emotional bonds with a place (e.g., Yonker 2017b; Lai et al. 2020; Lei et al. 2021; Bolor-Erdene et al. 2024).
