Abstract The global burden of microbial infections and antimicrobial resistance, coupled with the absence of precise bacterial recognition modalities, demands innovative breakthroughs in antibacterial treatment. Here, we report a chirality-specific biomimic—D-alanine-conjugated peptidoglycan mimics (D-PM)—designed for bacterial recognition.
