3.2.1. Protection and Relay Coordination Algorithm The flowchart for the protection and relay coordination algorithm for the microgrid is shown in Figure 7. It is assumed that a fault has occurred in node b (Figure 6). As discussed earlier, the primary relay opens immediately after the occurrence of fault since it meets its setting. Meanwhile, MCC also identifies the fault location (node b) based on KCL and denotes the faulted node as the faulted source node.
