Saudi Arabia qualifies 27 companies for second BESS tender

Saudi Power Procurement Co. said it has prequalified 27 developers and technology providers for the second group of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. The total capacity across “Group 2” is 12,000 MWh. Twenty-seven companies qualified, spanning Chinese, European, Middle Eastern, and East Asian players. The list includes major international developers such as Masdar, ACWA Power, EDF, and TotalEnergies Renewables, alongside Marubeni, Sumitomo, and Tesla Motors Netherlands.

Tesla ha anunciado que desplegó 13,5 GWh de capacidad de almacenamiento de energía en todo el mundo en el segundo trimestre de 2026, un 53% más que los 8,8 GWh que la compañía desplegó en el primer trimestre y un 40% más en comparación con los 9,6 GWh desplegados en el segundo trimestre de 2025. Los despliegues del segundo trimestre representan el segundo mayor total trimestral de Tesla hasta la fecha, apenas por debajo de los 14,2 GWh desplegados en el cuarto trimestre de 2025.

India’s C&I energy storage deployments set to exceed 31 GWh by 2032

Anew report by the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) and Customized Energy Solutions (CES) projects India’s C&I renewable energy deployments to rocket from 32 GW in 2025 to as much as 100 GW by 2032. The research, set for release at the India Energy Storage Week (IESW) 2026, also forecasts that energy storage system (ESS) installations in the C&I segment will grow more than tenfold, reaching up to 31 GWh over the next seven years.
