Mice were housed and bred under specific pathogen-free conditions at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Laboratory Animal Research Center and all experiments conformed to ethical principles and guidelines approved by the UCSF Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. Male and female mice between 8 and 12 weeks of age were used for experiments. C57BL/6, PF4-Cre, Rosa26-LSL-tdTomato, mTmG, nTnG and Ptprca Pepcb BoyJ mice were purchased from Jackson Laboratories.
