Keith entered a plea of no contest to two other charges, permitting an unauthorized person to drive and unsafe storage of a firearm. A judge withheld adjudication on those charges, and the case was closed in March 2026.

US Coast Guard rescues diver attacked by shark off Pensacola coast

The Coast Guard told the News Journal they received notification from a nearby vessel that a 40-year-old man was attacked by a shark roughly 30 miles offshore just before 5 p.m. "U.S. Coast Guard Station Pensacola launched a 45-foot response boat-medium and met the vessel approximately 5.5 miles south of Pensacola Pass," the Coast Guard said. "The injured person was transferred to the response boat, which had three EMT’s onboard.
