1 Introduction Microtubules are composed of α- and β-tubulin subunits that polymerize into dynamically growing and shrinking microtubule filaments. In neurons, dense microtubule networks are responsible for performing an incredible diversity of cellular roles in spatially distinct regions of the cell, playing a key role in neuronal development, connectivity, and overall neuronal health (Aiken and Holzbaur 2021; Kapitein and Hoogenraad 2015; Matamoros and Baas 2016).
