The TTX showcased strengths of current capabilities, identified gaps in existing mechanisms, and promoted dialogue between relevant OH sectors on ways to improve communication and multisectoral coordination within and between countries. Using the revised OHTAPZ methodology, we identified a wide range of partners from OH sectors with roles and/or responsibilities related to TZDs. Our identification process included nontraditional OH actors representing immigration, customs, and the armed forces.

24 June 2020 As COVID-19 cases fall in the UK and restrictions ease, learning from the global experience and not falling victim to false confidence is essential to avoid walking into a second spike of infections. With growing pressure to get the economy going, the falling case numbers in the UK and downgrading of the alert level are positive indicators that efforts to tackle the pandemic are working and that work can begin to reverse some of the economic and societal damage.

The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is a reminder that the security of samples taken during global health emergencies is a vital part of safeguarding biosecurity. The world's second-largest Ebola outbreak is ongoing in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and experts from around the world have been parachuted in to support the country's operation to stamp out the outbreak. The signs are encouraging, but we need to remain cautious.
