We are now just about two months away from Election Day in the American midterms cycle that will take place on the 3rd of November, 2026. I am seriously waiting in intense anticipation of what exactly may or may not happen now and into the future. The highly varied Senate battlefield is sprawling and scattered. It is even stretching deep into areas that have traditionally been staunch Donald Trump territory. All of this uncertainty really matters.

On Thursday the 18th of June, the people of just one parliamentary constituency may shape the future for all Britons. To provide some context for this extraordinary occasion, Josh Simons recently resigned as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Makerfield. This triggered Thursday’s by-election in Manchester in the North West of England. Simons did this to enable Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham to contest a seat in Parliament and hopefully win it.

On the 12th of April, the world witnessed a hugely seismic national election result. This one is bound to have enormous worldwide repercussions. He had spent 16 years as Hungary’s prime minister and served in this role for four consecutive four-year terms. But Viktor Orban was then finally ousted as the reactionary and authoritarian leader of this landlocked Eastern European nation. Opposition leader Peter Magyar soared to a resounding win in parliamentary elections.
