Interview

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To be a journalist means to be part of something sacred: sharing the world with the world. It brings us all closer together.

Who do you wish followed you?

Everyone. I try to write an article so that both experts and people totally unfamiliar with the topic will take something away from it.

Why did you become a journalist?

I have a passion for sharing information with and explaining things to people. Well-informed citizens are the bedrock of democracy and peace.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Sensationalism, hyperbole, and extremism may get you reads. But then you're part of the problem. Opt for thoroughness and fairness.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Connecting with fellow human being in-person when there is not a raging pandemic
