I wanted to write the next blockbuster novel, but journalism pays the bills

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Get published and don't worry about what you get paid until you get some clips. Never pitch an editor who doesn't cover the topic at hand

America Online (AOL): When they debuted their first site at COMDEX, I told my fellow journalists that AOL would never make it.
