The No. 14 ranked Texas Longhorns lost 3-2 to No. 6 BYU Cougars on Monday at Mike A. Meyers Stadium. The first half of this top-15 matchup had a little bit of everything. The fifth meeting of all time between the two teams was highly anticipated. BYU just recently joined the Big 12 Conference this year, and both teams were coming off of losses from their previous games. With both teams dropping in national rankings, the Longhorns and Cougars came onto the field with something to prove.

No. 14 Texas soccer upset by No. 25 Texas Tech at home

Texas lost its first game of Big 12 Conference play this Thursday. Ranked No. 14 in the country, Texas played long-time rival No. 25 Texas Tech at home in Mike A. Myers Stadium. In a highly anticipated matchup, the Longhorns fell short 2-1. “I knew it was gonna be a battle; it always is with Texas Tech,” head coach Angela Kelly said. The first half of the match was competitive, with several fouls in the first 10 minutes of the game.
