Have you ever used a typewriter?

I learned to type (or keyboard as it's now called) on an IBM Selectric II.

How is social media changing news?

It's both a benefit and a hazard. It democratizes news gathering and sharing, but also allows for, and too often, encourages disinformation.

Stephen Colbert (fake, but not really)

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Being a journalist means respecting the subject

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Via email or DM

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No. We didn't have one.

When's the best time to pitch you?

In the morning, US ET.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

There have been too many to remember them all. But a pitch stands out when I can tell the person behind it knows my audience and my outlet.

What's your favorite drink?

Iced Chai Latte - light ice, 9 pumps of chai
