What was your first job as a journalist?

My first big story was a feature on how database information providers were prepping for Y2K.

Email is best.

Google, Twitter, LInkedIn, rss, the telephone.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Start local! It's sorely needed.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Any time, as long as it's via email.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

All the ones that came from PR folks who did their homework and knew my/our beats.

What's your favorite drink?

Martini: dry, gin, dirty.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

On my bike.
