Reconstructing particle number size distributions via aerosol history–informed multiple deep learning models
Abstract Particle number size distribution (PNSD) is fundamental for characterizing aerosols and quantifying aerosol–cloud interactions, while simulations remain uncertain due to strong spatiotemporal variability during air-parcel transport. We developed a framework that combines air-parcel location history with co-located aerosol, cloud, meteorological, and gas variables into deep learning (DL) models to reconstruct PNSD.
Integrated multi-omics elucidates PRNP knockdown-mediated chemosensitization to gemcitabine in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma
1 Introduction Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a malignant tumor originating from pancreatic tissues of the digestive system. Based on its cellular origin, pancreatic cancer can be classified into several subtypes, including pancreatic endocrine tumors, intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms, adenocarcinomas, and metastatic pancreatic cancers (1, 2).

Research on Control System of Corn Planter Based on Radar Speed Measurement
1. Introduction As the large-scale production process accelerates, crop planting is gradually developing from the pursuit of high yields to high efficiency [1]. Precision planting technology is developing rapidly, because it saves costs and improves production efficiency [2]. An intelligent control of a precision planter can detect operation quality and regulate the planter in real time, which can effectively improve the planter’s operation quality [3].

Global-best brain storm optimization algorithm based on chaotic difference step and opposition-based learning - Scientific Reports
Abstract Recently, the following global-best strategy and discussion mechanism have been prevailing to solve the slow convergence and the low optimization accuracy in the brain storm optimization (BSO) algorithm. However, the traditional BSO algorithm also suffers from the problem that it is easy to fall into local optimum. Therefore, this work innovatively designed the chaotic difference step strategy.

A Novel Temperature Drift Error Estimation Model for Capacitive MEMS Gyros Using Thermal Stress Deformation Analysis
1. Introduction Capacitive MEMS Gyros (CMGs) have so many merits, such as significant miniaturization, high integration, low power consumption, and cost, and they are widely utilized and applied in diverse fields, for example, inertial navigation, attitude detection, and heading guidance [1,2,3,4].
Field test of continuous-variable quantum key distribution with a true local oscillator
A continuous-variable quantum key distribution (CV QKD) using a true local (located at the receiver) oscillator (LO) has been proposed to remove any possibility of side-channel attacks associated with transmission of the LO as well as reduce the cross-pulse contamination. Here we report an implementation of true LO-CV QKD using “off-the-shelf” components and conduct QKD experiments using the fiber optical network at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Quantum key distribution in a packet-switched network - npj Quantum Information
Abstract Packet switching revolutionized the Internet by allowing the efficient use of network resources for data transmission. In a previous work, we introduced packet switching in quantum networks as a path to the Quantum Internet and presented a proof-of-concept for its application to quantum key distribution (QKD). In this paper, we outline a three-step approach for key rate optimization in a packet-switched network.

Construction of Isocytosine Scaffolds via DNA-Compatible Biginelli-like Reaction
Herein we report a DNA-compatible Biginelli reaction to construct isocytosine scaffolds. This reaction utilizes a one-pot reaction of DNA-conjugated guanidines with aldehydes and methyl cyanoacetates to give isocytosine derivatives, and the method is well compatible with different types of substrates. This is the first report on the synthesis of an isocytosine backbone in the field of DNA-compatible organic synthesis. The successful development of this reaction can widen the chemical space of DELs.

Design and Experimental Study on a New Horizontal Rotary Precision Seed Metering Device for Hybrid Rice
Abstract : In order to meet the sowing demand of the hybrid rice plug seedling, a horizontal rotary precision seed metering device was proposed. The key structure parameters were designed, the kinematics analysis of the seed-filling process was carried out, and the main influencing factors of the seeding performance evaluation index were determined.
My iPhone is black and white. My life has never been better.
In 1983, the first cellphone, Motorola DynaTAC 8000X, was launched. It had a black and white LCD screen that only displayed phone number digits. In 1997, the first colour screen came equipped with Siemens S10. In 2000, Sharp launched the world's very first camera phone, the J-SH04. In 2007, LG Prada was the first touchscreen on the market. Cell phones with their growing capacity, make life almost impossible to live without.
Cringey emoji+cringey emoji=your new favourite emoji?
First, since the 1990' we have "emoticons". :-( 8-D ¯_(ツ)_/¯ as such, a rather primitive yet effective gesture started to appear in online chatrooms. The first emoji was created in 1999 by Japanese artist Shigetaka Kurita from the development team for "i-mode," an early mobile internet platform from Japan's main mobile carrier, DOCOMO. Kurita wanted to design an attractive interface to convey information simply.
Eros is dead. A digest of Agony of Eros by Byung-Chul Han
What is love? What killed it? The central concern of this book is the idea that love in the traditional sense, or eros, is dead. Instead, what we called "love" in our modern, capitalistic, individualistic society is a product of narcissism. it goes on to theorise that the foundation of pure love is about the negation of the self.
Packet switching in quantum networks: A path to the quantum Internet
Abstract Large-scale quantum networks with thousands of nodes require scalable network protocols and physical hardware to realize. In this paper, we introduce packet switching as a paradigm for quantum data transmission in both future and near-term quantum networks. We propose a classical-quantum data frame structure and explore methods of frame generation and processing.
The “in place” approach may solve the problem of stay-at-home children
2021-03-02 09:16 By: GMW.cn According to related data, this year, over 100 million migrant workers decided to celebrate the Spring Festival in their places of work in response to the government’s appeal for them to spend the holiday “in place”. For this group, the biggest concerns are the elderly and children back at home. According to official data, by the end of August 2018, there were almost 7 million stay-at-home children in our country.
Highly efficient and ultracompact InP/InGaAsP three-port trench-based couplers
Abstract Existing photonic couplers are limited by either large footprint or long interaction length. Here a highly efficient and ultracompact three-port trench-based coupler (TBC) is proposed on an InP platform in terms of the frustrated total internal reflection principle. A single slash-shaped narrow trench located at the “T” intersection of two InP/InGaAsP multiquantum well ridge waveguides forms the coupler.
