Jeff Ostrowski covers mortgages and the housing market for Bankrate.com. Before joining Bankrate in 2020, he covered business, economics and politics for the Palm Beach Post in Florida. He chronicled the housing boom and bust of the 2000s. His front-page stories about a tax loophole for large landlords led state legislators to vote unanimously to end the tax break. He's a member of the board of the nonprofit National Association of Real Estate Editors and a two-time winner of the group's gold award.
