Abstract Background and Objectives Survivors of spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) may have indications for statin therapy. The effect of statins on the risk of subsequent hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke (IS) in this setting is uncertain. We sought to determine the risk of any stroke (ischemic stroke, IS or recurrent ICH), IS, and recurrent ICH associated with statin use among ICH survivors.

1. Introduction Vitamin D is a prohormone essential to humans [1,2]. Once activated, it exhibits its effects through binding to the vitamin D receptor (VDR) and thereby regulates cell proliferation and differentiation [3]. In addition to well-described effects in bone metabolism, vitamin D has been found to be involved in the function of several other organ systems [1], including the reproductive system [4,5,6].

Study question Is maternal intake of total folate in mid-pregnancy associated with pubertal timing in girls and boys? What's already known Earlier or later pubertal timing is of concern due to associations with subsequent physical disease and psychological morbidities. Prenatal exposures might change the reproductive development and function through changes to the foetal epigenome. Folate is a central regulator of these epigenetic processes and might induce programming effects on pubertal timing.
