Digital Twin Technology and Process Validation in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing:Bridging Virtual Simulation and Regulatory Compliance for Next-Generation Drug Production
Submitted: 19 February 2026 You are already at the latest version The pharmaceutical industry is undergoing a significant transformation driven by digitalization and the adoption of Industry 4.0 principles. Among the most promising innovations is digital twin technology, which creates dynamic virtual replicas of physical manufacturing processes that enable real-time simulation, monitoring, prediction, and optimization.
The shaky foundations of large language models and foundation models for electronic health records - npj Digital Medicine
Abstract The success of foundation models such as ChatGPT and AlphaFold has spurred significant interest in building similar models for electronic medical records (EMRs) to improve patient care and hospital operations. However, recent hype has obscured critical gaps in our understanding of these models’ capabilities.

Evaluating algorithmic fairness in the presence of clinical guidelines: the case of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk estimation
Evaluation We introduce threshold calibration error (TCE), a measure of local calibration, defined as the difference between the therapeutic threshold (t1=7.5% or t2=20%) applied on the risk estimate and the implied threshold on the risk, measured by the calibration curve (figure 1C). As in the recalibration procedure, we estimate implied thresholds ga(ti) at a fixed therapeutic threshold ti by fitting a calibration curve ga for each group a (figure 1C).
Estimating the efficacy of symptom-based screening for COVID-19
Abstract There is substantial interest in using presenting symptoms to prioritize testing for COVID-19 and establish symptom-based surveillance. However, little is currently known about the specificity of COVID-19 symptoms. To assess the feasibility of symptom-based screening for COVID-19, we used data from tests for common respiratory viruses and SARS-CoV-2 in our health system to measure the ability to correctly classify virus test results based on presenting symptoms.
