Nasal Septal Abscess Resulting From Poorly Fitting Dentures

Nasal septal abscess presents as a collection of pus between the cartilaginous septum and mucoperichondrium. This uncommon condition typically arises from an untreated septal hematoma secondary to nasal trauma.1,2 To our knowledge, septal abscess arising from oral appliance use has not been previously reported. We report an unusual presentation of a septal abscess owing to poorly fitting dentures that eroded into the nasal spine causing a communication between the oral and nasal cavities.
